What is ComedySportz®?

ComedySportz® is a fun, fast-paced comedy show that’s great for the whole family, great for business entertainment and great for groups of all types.  For more, check out our About page.

What is improvisation?

Unlike “Standup Comedy” in which one performer tells pre-planned jokes to the audience, improvisational comedy involves a whole group of performers making up scenes and playing games on the spot based on audience suggestion

When do you perform?

We perform weekly in New York City.  You can find out more here.

Do you serve foodz and drinkz?

The Broadway Comedy Club serves a variety of food and beverages, and there is a two-item minimum for every person (it can be food or drink). If you are on a diet, don’t worry, the laughter will burn off any extra calories you may take on.  Find out more about the venue here.

What is the seating arrangement at your theater?

ComedySportz® seats general admission. We are a 70-seat, club-style venue with audience seating. There are tables for each seat, perfect for food and drinks or supporting your head when you are doubled-over laughing.

Is your show for kids or adults?

Both! ComedySportz® is an all ages show, meaning that both adults and kids (recommended for 8 years old and up) can find a reason to laugh with our show. We enforce a “brown-bag” foul for any foul language from players… or fans, making us friendly to families.

Teenagerz / College Studentz / Adultz: “Family friendly” doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time, our players make every show fun for every age-group in the audience.  Think a mix of Dora the Explorer, Shrek, and The Honeymooners.

Can I buy ticketz in advance?

Yes, right here.

Do you have classes?

Do we ever!!! We offer improv classes at several levels-from beginner to advanced, kids to adults. Click here to learn more.

Can I hire ComedySportz® for an event?

We love taking our show on the road and have performed at company events, schools, summer camps, bar mitzvahs, private parties and more! We have several different levels of our road show at prices to fit most budgets. Click here to learn more or e-mail us at jill@csznewyork.com.

Do you have auditionz?

ComedySportz® has open auditions as needed. The best way to stay apprised of when these happen is by signing up for our newsletter!

What’z with all the ‘Z’z?

At ComedySportz®, we like to do thingz differently, zo we zwitch up ‘S’s and ‘Z’s becauze we’re zany like that.  Pluz the letter ‘Z’ doezn’t get nearly enough expozure, zo thiz is our zhout-out to him (okay, we’ll ztop now… I mean now).

What is your Covid Protocols?

Vaccination and Mask Policy for CSz Shows in NYC

New York City will continue to require vaccinations for audience members, as well as performers, backstage crew, and theatre staff, for all performances through February 28, 2022. We have also initiated new provisions to welcome international visitors and children under 12 years old. Masks will continue to be required for audiences inside the theatre, except while actively eating or drinking in designated locations.

(Guests 12-18 may use a government-issued ID or school ID – no photo required.) “Fully vaccinated” means on the date of the performance a guest is at least 14 days after their second dose of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine OR at least 14 days after their single dose of an approved single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

For international guests TWO doses of any “mix and match” combination of an FDA or WHO approved COVID-19 vaccine are acceptable.

Guests under 12, when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult may enter the theatre with ONE of the following:
